Frequently Asked Questions

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is actually a form of healing and transformation that has been used for centuries. Many well known people in history used hypnosis to aide in their accomplishments. Einstein, Tesla, Churchill and Henry Ford are just a few who commonly used self-hypnosis on a regular basis. However, due to Hollywood's portrayal of hypnosis as a spooky, trance-like state that causes people to do the bidding of evil doers, it has become less popular in more recent history.

In simple terms, hypnosis is a natural state of relaxation that our brains move in and out of several times each day. It happens when you are bored and start daydreaming, or when you are driving and your mind starts to wander and you don't remember taking that turn. In situations like these, you are in a hypnotic state.

Is hypnosis safe?

Yes. Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state, and a trained hypnotist can guide you in deliberately accessing this deeper relaxed consciousness. You still retain all control of your faculties, but things like fear and anxiety will not encumber your thought process, thus allowing you to create positive change for yourself.

Are there side effects of hypnosis?

The only side effects are positive ones. You may experience a deep sense of peaceful relaxation, a better lightened mood, better sleep, and rapid positive change.

Can I be made to do things that are against my will?

Absolutely Not! Your hypnosis session is all about you and your desire to positively change some aspect of your life. You are aware at all times, and you will remember everything you want to remember.

What if I can't be hypnotized?

Anyone with a normal brain can be hypnotized. You may go into a lighter or a deeper trance (some people don't like that word, so substitute relaxed-state) than someone else, but even a light trance is suitable to effect change for most people.

Does hypnosis really work?

The research to show the effectiveness of hypnosis is exhaustive. Such research backs hypnosis as treatment for many personal problems including pain management, gastrointestinal difficulties, overcoming stress and fear, habit change, as well as helping to accomplish personal goals, and managing emotions like anger, depression and anxiety.
